Match report 4 of the season and Dave Greer and I were chatting last week about older names and we've been trying to think of who has been part of the Blackpool Junior Badminton Club. A name I forgot to mention was only my ladies doubles partner Michelle Hodgson! Sorry Michelle!
Division 1
Hesketh-Fleetwood A v Lightning B was 24-0 but looking at the scoresheet there were plenty of 21-17 and 21-19 games recorded, especially in the mixed. The ladies' games were high scoring from Fleetwood-Hesketh. Serena Hindle made her debut for the Fleetwood-Hesketh team and a warm welcome also goes to Kelly Anderson who has recently joined the Lightning B team.
Lightning A v Kingfisher A was 8-16. This was definitely an interesting scoresheet this week with six of the games splitting 1-1 and scoring such as 12-21 then 21-12.
Division 2
A great score to report on with 12-12 from Hesketh Fleetwood C v Project 12. Another 25-23 game and a 22-20 game included in the match along with a few 21-19 games made the match even closer.
Kirkham Charter B v. Stanley B 15-9 but again, three of the games were 22-20 and one was 23-21! Greta to see!
Lids A v. Stanley C 24-0. A lovely match report was attached with this from Stanley C which read: “Well done Keith for playing his first match. Molly and Olivia played well and the ladies from Lids played very well too.” It's wonderful to see new names to the league appearing so well done and welcome to Keith!
Levels
Just the one scoresheet this week from Lightning B v Hesketh-Fleetwood Levels with Hesketh-Fleetwood taking a clear win with 13-3.
And finally…
Another reminder about the Mixed Tournament on SUNDAY 26th NOVEMBER 2023 at Preesall Sports Hall, Sandy Lane FY6 0ER. It starts at 9am prompt and bacon and egg butties and tea and coffee will be available to buy for participants and spectators alike.
Even if you aren't interested in playing, please come down to support. If you have entered, confirmation of payment details and details for the day will be with you within the next week. We'd love to see as many people there as possible and we have a broad representation from lots of clubs in the league so come on down and cheer on your teammates! 😊
