WEEK 24 REPORT W/E 24TH MARCH

24/03/2023

DIVISION 2
Kirkham Charter A confirmed their runners up place with a hard fought 14-10 win against Hesketh Fleetwood C. The mens finished even, whilst in the ladies, Kirkham just nudged ahead by winning 4. Leading 7-5 after the levels, Kirkham moved nearer to the finish line by winning the first 2 mixed sets before HF pulled a set back. The 4th mixed set was quickly won by Kirkham to win the match. Derek Hill was the only HF player to win more than half with 5. Amelia Parker finished the season on a high with yet another maximum to end a fantastic season for herself and the team.

Kirkham Charter B had a convincing win 22-2 against a young Stanley C. Carol Howarth and Jamie Sedgwick were the only 2 players with maximum wins. Stanley’s winners came in the mixed from Angela Longstaff and Colin Davison winning 1 game with Sophie Wilford and Javed Ikram winning the other. Kirkham finish in a satisfying mid table position whilst Stanley fought hard in all their matches.

Final match of the season pitted champions Lightning B against Project 12. Lightning raced to a substantial lead of 11-1 after the levels which they consolidated by winning 10 mixed to end a very dominant season and a quick return to Division 1. Polly Logan and Nathan Bunting were the top scorers winning all their games.
Congratulations to Project’s Kat Platt who, not only was her teams most successful player on the night, but celebrated a special birthday last week!

LEVELS
