This week's report covers w/c 10th November.
Again some brilliant results coming in.

Mixed Division 1

Kingfisher B vs Poulton A

Division 1 saw Kingfisher B host a strong Poulton A side. Poulton set the tone early, with their ladies’ pairings proving dominant and securing all 8 ladies’ games, giving the visitors a significant early advantage.

On the men’s side, Kingfisher fought back with determination. Gordon Jackson delivered two excellent performances, taking both of Kingfisher’s men's games, ensuring the home team got some points on the board.

In the mixed doubles, the opening pair of Michael Hutchinson & Rishitha Ballipati produced competitive displays, managing to take 2 of their 4 mixed games, splitting both rubbers and keeping the pressure on Poulton.

Despite these strong efforts from Kingfisher, Poulton remained the more consistent team across the board and finished with a convincing 20–4 overall victory.

Player of the Match (POTM)
For the winning side, Sophie Wilford earned POTM honours, standing out as the only player to win all of her games—a key factor in Poulton’s dominant result.

Lightning A vs Kirkham A

In Mixed Division One, Lightning A hosted Kirkham A and delivered a commanding performance from start to finish, securing a brilliant 22–2 victory. The home side maintained control throughout the fixture, showing strength across all pairings.

For Kirkham, it was Liam Richards who prevented the whitewash, taking both of the team’s games with a determined and resilient display.

A standout highlight for Lightning came from Verity Parker, who stepped up from Lightning B and produced an exceptional performance, winning all 8 of her games on the night.

Levels Division 1

Fleetwood A vs Bloomfield A

In Levels Division 1, Fleetwood A hosted Bloomfield A, and the home advantage certainly played its part. Fleetwood delivered a dominant and controlled performance across all pairings, ultimately securing a clean 16–0 victory.

This result reinforces Fleetwood A’s strong momentum as they continue to push for the division title, showcasing both depth and consistency throughout their squad.

Levels 2 Divison

The Levels 2 Division opened this week with a tightly contested match between Lids B and Fleetwood B, finishing 9–7 in favour of the visiting side, Fleetwood B. The match remained competitive throughout, with both teams displaying strong rallies, disciplined movement, and well-constructed points.

Key Performers

Ryan (Fleetwood B): Delivered an excellent performance, securing 6 games for his team and proving decisive in several close rubbers.

Joe Cyriac (Lids B): The standout for the home side, taking 5 of their 7 games, showing consistency and resilience despite the narrow defeat.

Both teams demonstrated promising form, and the early competitiveness of the fixture suggests an exciting season ahead for the division.

Kirkham C vs Lightning B

Kirkham C hosted Lightning B in a fixture that showcased impressive determination and standout individual performances from the visiting team. Lightning B put in a commanding display throughout the match, ultimately securing a 12–4 victory.

A major highlight was the exceptional performance of Jacob Bagley, who played with consistency, accuracy, and composure. Jacob won 7 of his 8 games, making him a crucial contributor to Lightning B’s strong result.

Outside of the Blackpool League, Jacob has also earned a significant personal accolade. Following an excellent showing at a recent college tournament, he has been selected to represent the North West in the National Colleges Tournament in Nottingham. This is a superb achievement and a testament to his hard work, skill, and dedication.
