Season Review ....so far!

04/01/2019

Division 1
Fleetwood A go marching on and will surely win their 23rd consecutive title and 44th in total having won all their games so far for a 100% record.
The battle is on for silver with Kingfisher A firm favourites if they gain revenge for their early season defeat to Albany A - a draw would probably be good enough for Kingfisher. Realistically Albany and Poulton A are fighting for the bronze.
As Warton A pulled out at the start of the season this may leave Albany B as the only team to be actually relegated.

Division 2
Hesketh A are heading back to Division 1 after an impressive start which has seen them win all 9 games and establish a significant gap at the top.
Once again the battle is on for 2nd place with Kingfisher B ahead of the chasing pack by 1 point but having played 1 game more than both Pilling B in 3rd and Lids B in 4th.
Lids C are doomed in bottom place and Fleetwood B have a tough task to catch Stanley A who are 4 points better off thanks to gaining 6 bonus points from their 9 games!

Division 3
Hesketh B are in pole position having won 8 and drawn 1 - however Kirkham Charter A are only 4 points behind with a game in hand. Ribby Hall A are outsiders for promotion as they are 9 points off the top though they do have 2 games in hand over the leaders.
Kingfisher C and Kirkham Charter B occupy the bottom 2 positions. Stanley B are still not completely clear as they have only 3 matches left, however 2 of them are against the two teams below them.

Levels
The top involves a 2 horse race with Project 12 in front by 1 point but Warton are favourites as they have played 1 match less.
Albany B have a slender 1 point advantage over bottom placed Warton B but with 5 games left this is too close to call!

Other useful/useless Info

Fleetwood A have the top score of all the teams in the league with an average of 19 games per match !

Hesketh are the most successful club with both their A & B teams top of their respective divisions. Between them they have won 17 and drawn 1 with 0 losses and averaged 18 games per match!

A unique game in the Levels Division occurred when Albany beat Warton B 10-6 as Albany fielded an all ladies team!

Individual performance of the season goes to Nikki Wilford who was POTM for winning all her 8 games despite being on the losing team when Poulton A lost 13-11 to Kingfisher A in a recent Division 1 match.

Comebacks of the season were both in Division 2.
Project 12 beating Lids B 14-10 after being down 4-10!
Stanley A coming from 2-10 to draw 12-12 with Fleetwood B

Most settings so far is 5 in a Division 2 match Kingfisher B v Pilling B which ended appropriately in a draw.

Matches restart on Monday 7th with 2 huge games both at Preesall!
Division 1 2nd v 3rd Kingfisher A v Albany A
Division 2 3rd v 4th Pilling B v Lids B

As a reminder please send scorecards in ASAP (the same night would be great) and remember to copy me in when you send them to Ant.
